A high-level side event combining short presentations, project demonstrations, and dialogue among policymakers, scientists, technology developers, and community representatives. It will announce and present the pilot project “Tackling Black Carbon Through Forest Fire Management in the Amazon,” which integrates AI-based fire detection (Pantera System) and community-led fire brigades (Filhas da Mãe do Fogo) to prevent and mitigate forest fires and their health and climate impacts. The event will highlight how this initiative advances black carbon reduction, strengthens air-quality monitoring, promotes local capacity building, and supports Brazil’s climate leadership ahead of COP30.
